General Dynamics European Land Systems – Bridge Systems is a defence technology company that develops and manufactures advanced aluminium bridge systems. Welding is an important part of our production process, and it was also where we previously experienced the greatest challenges with air quality. Welding generates welding fumes that cannot always be captured directly at the source. As a result, some of the fumes can spread throughout the production hall and affect the surrounding air.
Before we installed Njord air purifiers, we felt that the air quality in the halls was relatively poor. Our welders naturally use personal protective equipment, but this primarily protects the person carrying out the work. For other people working in the production halls, it was therefore important to also improve the surrounding air quality. Welding fumes can contain substances that are harmful to breathe in, while applicable occupational exposure limits must also be observed. For us, it was therefore a natural priority to do more to protect our employees and create a better working environment.
Since installing Njord air purifiers, the air quality has improved significantly, both noticeably and measurably. Our employees feel better protected and experience greater comfort in their working environment.
For us, this is an important result, as the primary aim of air purification is to create a cleaner and safer working environment for everyone in our production halls.
When choosing an air purification solution, it was important to us that it worked well with our production requirements. Our halls have relatively low ceilings, while we also need to be able to use the production areas flexibly. We therefore wanted to avoid installations that take up valuable floor space. Njord’s air purifiers can be suspended from the ceiling, making them a very good fit for our operations. This, combined with their high air purification capacity, was an important factor in our decision. The solution enables us to purify the air very effectively without restricting flexibility in production.
Our cooperation with Njord has been excellent. The installations and servicing have always been trouble-free and very straightforward. We also appreciate the personal contact and the fast and easy communication. Our experience with Njord’s air purifiers has so far been consistently positive. We see clear improvements in air quality and find that the solution works very well in our production environment. We are already planning to install additional air purifiers.
