Ionisation involves the formation of negative ions through an electrical discharge, causing the air passing through the air purifier to become ionised. This is a phenomenon that also occurs naturally, for example during thunderstorms.
Ionisation has an inhibiting effect on microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria and mould, both in the air and on surfaces. The technology is particularly effective at reducing and eliminating unpleasant odours and unwanted smells.
